Just saw the news...

Ok, so I'm a little freaked. I was planning to be in Mumbai just now. Instead I made an impulsive decision with a travel buddy of mine to go up to the north of Rajastan for a camel safari. We booked into a hotel this morning in Jodhpur, just as a stop off point, and happened to see pictures in the local papers that were even more gruesome than usual (indian newspapers don't really censor anything) and even though it was in hindi, blood seemed to drip from between the lines. Pictures of blown up rickshaws and bits of bodies lying in torn up streets filled the papers leaving not much for anything else. The stuff you've seen on BBC news? That's only the international stuff.

So. Don't think I'll be going to Mumbai anymore!!
Special note to my parents: I'm going to stay as safe as I can and I won't take any risks so don't worry about me!!

Tomorrow, onto Jaisalmur and a few days of trekking with camels in the desert, camping out at night :)
Far away from the cities that just seem to be on self-destruct.

Yeah I think I'll skip Mumbai too - I found a flight down to Goa the morning I arrive for thirty quid :)

Go you!
I think I'm still going to train it down to Goa... it means going through the station but not stopping... I'll see what my gut feeling is at the time.
